Electronic billboard usage policy
Objective
The City of Beaconsfield allows the display of community messages or public service announcements that are aimed at the population and improve the promotion of events and activities related to life in Beaconsfield.
Locations
Saint-Charles Boulevard, corner Sherbrooke ; Recreation Centre, 1974 City Lane ; Windermere corner Montrose.
Authorized Organisations
On a limited basis (up to a maximum of 4 times a year), the following groups and associations are authorized to display on the billboard:
- Groups recognized by the City;
- City businesses and merchants to promote charitable community activities;
On a non-limited basis, public interest messages regarding community health and security:
- Ville de Montréal;
- Ministries of the Quebec government and affiliated organizations;
Exceptionally, other organisations may be considered on a case by case basis by the Communications department.
Operating Rules
Posting Language
All messages must be provided in French and English. Messages containing incoherent text will be returned for correction.
Design, frequency and duration of messages
- The use of the electronic billboard is limited to the dissemination of non-commercial information. The City does not allow any images, pictures or comments of an obscene, hateful, explicit, racial, abusive, defamatory or of a sexual nature or that encourages illegal activities. Nor does it allow solicitation, advertising, messages of political or religious nature, or messages relating to employment opportunities.
- The design, frequency and duration of the message are at the discretion of the City. The City reserves the right to change the message, reject or postpone to a later date. The maximum duration of a posted item is 2 weeks.
- The City cannot be held responsible for mistakes made by individuals who have submitted an incorrect written request.
- The composition of messages must not exceed 100 characters in each language including spaces, apostrophes, dashes and hyphens.
- If the organization cancels an event or activity before or during the broadcast, it must notify the Communications Department immediately at 514 428-4400, ext. 4453 or at info@beaconsfield.ca.
- The City reserves the right to establish an order of priority on the advertising of messages. City announcements have precedence over other display messages.
Display Requests
- The display requests must be received between 2 to 6 weeks before the desired date of publication and must comply with this usage policy. Requests received outside of this time frame risk being denied.
- No telephone or email request will be accepted.
