Following the adoption of an Act mainly to recognize that municipalities are local governments and to increase their autonomy and powers (Bill n°122), municipalities are no longer obligated to publish their public notices in local newspapers. Municipalities may now publish all public notices on the Internet, provided that the terms of publication are prescribed in a by-law.
Since January 1, 2019, the City of Beaconsfield has published its public notices solely on its website. For information purposes, the City also reserves the right to post a paper version of its public notices on bulletin boards in municipal buildings (e.g., City Hall, the Recreation Centre, Public Works).
The City’s website is a centralized tool which allows residents to access the public notices database in addition to the latest City news as well as recent Council decisions.
