Details regarding the collection of bulky items and objects damaged by water infiltration and sewer backup

Environment August 21, 2024

Following the historic rains of August 9, many cities, including Beaconsfield, were heavily affected. We understand the concerns regarding the collection of damaged items and would like to provide you with some further details.

It is important to clarify that the two companies responsible for our weekly collections are not obligated to provide a pick-up service in the event of a natural disaster. However, given the urgency of the situation, they have generously agreed to lend us a hand, and we are very grateful for this. It's also essential to understand that Beaconsfield isn't the only city to receive this help; many other municipalities served by the same provider are also facing challenges. As a result, the companies have had to spread their resources across several cities, which explains why the collection in Beaconsfield cannot benefit from their full workforce.

We are working closely with them to make this process as efficient and quick as possible, in accordance with available manpower.

Currently, the first phase of collection is still underway in the Sherwood sector. We understand that not all residents were able to take advantage of the first collection, which is why the second phase of the collection will begin as soon as the first is completed.
