We are partnering with GoRecycle to offer you a recycling service for your old refrigeration appliances when you bring them to our drop-off location.
This service makes it easier for you to dispose of your appliances, and ensures that they are properly disposed of.
When and where?
Saturday and Sunday, April 26 and 27, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., at Beaconsfield High School, during the hazardous household waste collection.
Appliances recycled by GoRecycle:
- Refrigerators > 2.5 pi3
- Wine cellars and coolers
- Freezers
- Water dispensers
- Window or mobile air conditioners
- Dehumidifiers
Why recycle?
Appliances abandoned at the curb are mostly crushed without the refrigerant gases being removed. The gases are then released into the environment, along with other harmful materials such as oil and plastic.
Each appliance collected by GoRecycle prevents the release of over a tonne of greenhouse gases (GHGs).
What does 1 tonne of GHG represent?
- A flight from Montreal to Barcelona.
- Composting for 4 1/2 years.
- Refusing 684,932 plastic straws.
